Submitting the application is only the first step on the path to a MAT² Apprenticeship.

Once your application is received, MAT² has a process to help guide you along the path to become an apprentice.

Step 1: Phone call with the MAT² Recruiting Team

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email asking you to schedule a call with the MAT² Recruiting Team. This call will primarily focus on how the program could work for you and allow MAT² to learn more about you, your previous experience, and the next steps of the application process.

Step 2:  Meet the Employers

Applicants will have the opportunity to hear from each participating employer sometime in the beginning of March.  The employers will present what their company manufacturers and what they are looking for in an apprentice.

Step 3: Becoming an apprentice

MAT² Network Companies receive your resume and the information you provided on your application and decide which candidates they would like to interview. Each company has their own interviewing and hiring processes for the open apprenticeship positions, so it’s important that you are prepared for the interview process.

A few best practices include:

  • Touring companies, as available
  • Effective and timely communication
  • Send a thank you note

Be prepared for virtual interviewing by reviewing the  MAT² Virtual Interview Workshop. As you begin interviewing, companies will be making their final decisions on whether to offer you an apprentice position. If an interview goes well and the company feels you are a right fit, they will extend an offer. Once you review and accept, you become a MAT² Apprentice.
